My son's best friend is now officially a big brother. And while he doesn't quite understand that having a baby sister in the house may mean broken Lego creations and interrupted wii games, Isaac is nonetheless ecstatic.
Since the catastrophic earthquake in Haiti, I have been thinking about ways I could help. As I read Isaac's dad's Facebook post about getting on a flight to pick up his new baby daughter in Pittsburgh after she arrived from the devastated city of Port-au-Prince, I could only imagine how difficult that journey must have been; worrying about whether she had food or water or shelter and wondering what kind of other trauma she had been through. As a mother, I began to think about all the other children still suffering in Haiti ... and my heart broke.
That's when I realized I could help by utilizing my gift for photography. I created Lenses of Love to raise more money and positively affect more lives than I could as just an individual. Through this special program I will donate 100 percent of my sitting fees to Kentucky Adoption Services, an organization helping other orphaned children in Haiti. Click on the Details link below and schedule your session today. There are still 800 orphans in Port-au-Prince waiting to get out of the country. As individuals we can make a difference, but together we can help unite the world.
